Beautiful rare mid century Carstens ceramic vase from its Prehistoric line. 
Designed by Gerda Heuckeroth for Carstens. 
Manufactured in West Germany in 1970s. 
A great decorative piece!

 

Large decorative seaweed mustard colour vase/Jug. 
West German Carstens Keramik factory marked  on base and with a  really great Picasso style decorative  cubist pattern. prehistoric/brutalist design by Gerda Heuckeroth.


The Carstens Tönnieshof factory started in the 1950s and focused on a high quality product. Production numbers were fairly high, but there were special lines and glazes done in much smaller numbers.

This vase is very rare and comes but rarely on the market.

 

CONDITION: 
Vintage condition. Damage in one place ( at the top of the vase where the opening conects with the handle)!
